Usage of improper screwdriver would mean that the screw holes would get damaged.

Take a complete backup of your data. Completely power down the laptop. Remove the adaptor and the battery. Gently put the screwdriver in the screw housing and position it at the correct notch. Start moving the screwdriver anti clockwise so that the screw becomes loose. When the screw becomes loose enough the screwdriver would pull it out because it is magnetic. Now you should take of the cover and blow away the dust, if you can use a small vacuum cleaner, so much the better.

Gently lift off your old RAM module and take note of its position. Inert the new RAM module in the slot. Be careful that you position the RAM in that same manner that was the position of the one you removed. Improper insertion can lead to breakage of RAM module or the holder slot. Make sure that a click sound is made as it marks that RAM is properly inserted.

Now simply put the cover back and tighten the screw. If you can get to the log in screen in Windows, it means that you are successful.
